Course: Wireless Fundamentals

 

Course Description

This course provides a hands-on guide to planning, designing, installing and configuring wireless LANs that prepares students for the Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification. The text used offers in-depth coverage of wireless networks with extensive step-by-step coverage of IEEE 802.11b/a/g/pre-n implementation, design, security, and troubleshooting. Material is reinforced with hands-on projects at the end of each chapter from two of the principal wireless LAN vendors, Cisco and Linksys.

 

Certificate

Completion of this course certifies proficient wireless network administration skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.

 

This course is not required by any Information Technologies Programs.

Course Structure

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

 

Course Length

The estimated length of this course is 90 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

 

Admission Requirements

Prior to taking this course, students must have successfully completed the Networking Technology course or have instructor approval.
