Course: Financial Records
Course Description
Keeping accurate financial records is a vital part of every office. This course focuses on the basic skills, knowledge, and procedures needed by entry-level office employees.
Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient financial record keeping and entry-level office skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.
This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs:
• Accounting Clerk (elective)
• Business Administrative Support I
• Business Administrative Support II
Competencies (skills you will learn)
• Define, understand, and use elementary bookkeeping/accounting terminology
• Become acquainted with the bookkeeping/accounting duties and requirements for
entry level positions
• Demonstrate the ability to use basic business math procedures in solving basic
bookkeeping/accounting problems
• Develop an understanding of work habits and attitudes that will lead to success on the job
Course Structure
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

The estimated length of this course is 90 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.
Admission Requirements
