Course: Business Calculations

 

Course Description

Prepares students on the 10-key calculator using the touch method to perform basic business math calculations. These calculations include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, and combining operations. Attention will be given to speed and accuracy.

 

Certificate

Completion of this course certifies proficient basic math and 10-key skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.

 

This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs:

     •   Accounting Clerk

     •   Administrative Clerk (elective)

     •   Business Administrative Support I

     •   Business Administrative Support II

     •   Computer Applications

     •   Customer Service

     •   Front Office Support (elective)

     •   Medical Office Administration

     •   Perform calculator functions to solve business math applications

 

Course Structure

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

 

Course Length

The estimated length of this course is 60 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

There are no specific requirements to take this course. However, courses in the Business Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.
